Day 1
Transfer from Manaus airport to Hotel Tropical in Manaus. The rest of the day will be spent at your leisure. Evening may be used to visit the nearby Ponta Negra Boulevard where you can enjoy nightly native dance shows, art shows and local craft markets.
Day 2
10:00 am checkout and transfer by van to Amazonat River Lodge. On the way we will stop at Amazonat Jungle Lodge a 2 hour ride from Manaus, where will have lunch and an opportunity to stretch. We will continue our trip by van for another 40 mins. and then transfer to a motorized canoe for a 20 min. ride to Amazonat River Lodge. Arrival to final destination is around 4 p.m. Check in to your cabin followed by a night canoe trip after dinner.
Day 3 Amazonat River Lodge
We will explore the Urubu River and learn about the ecosystems surrounding this blackwater river. When the water level is high we will visit an Igapo or flooded forest where we can admire the beautiful reflections and fauna. When the water level is low we can visit locations with the mysterious black earth soils where ceramics are found dating to 400 BC. Two trips per day are planned, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Day 4 Amazonat River Lodge
An early morning bird watching trip, pink dolphin spotting and a visit to an indigenous tribe that lives in the Indian Reserve are only part of the day’s program. We will also visit a farm that grows the famous Guaraná plant and in the evening visit a nearby community.
Day 5 Amazonat River Lodge
Day is reserved for relaxation or other independent activities. An early morning bird watching tour, swimming, kayaking, picnic in a nearby island or observing the rainforest from our panoramic deck are just some suggestions of what can be done in this idyllic spot. You can also try your luck at fishing for Peacock bass something this river is famous for.
Day 6 Amazonat Jungle Lodge
After breakfast transfer from the River Lodge to the Jungle Lodge. Travel is both by river and land and takes around one hour. Upon arrival to Amazonat Jungle Lodge guests can take a tour of the lodge and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our facilities include a swimming pool, an orchid park, an orchard with over 5000 local fruit trees, extensive walking trails, and a natural lake and beach area among others. In the evening we will do a walk in the primary forest to meet its inhabitants and listen to the night sounds.
Day 7 Amazonat Jungle Lodge
A full day will be spent exploring the jungle with emphasis on the biodiversity of the primary rainforest and jungle survival. Lunch and overnight stay will be at Jane’s Place our jungle survival camp. Our rustic camp in the middle of the jungle gives the guest the best opportunity to see a primary forest up close both day and night. You will also experience the comfort of sleeping in a hammock as is the custom of the locals.
Day 8 Amazonat Jungle Lodge
Full day Amazon River tour. This trip will show the natural wealth of this river in this region with its vast array of flora and fauna. We will also visit a local community supported by Amazonat. Return to Amazonat Jungle Lodge around 8.30 p.m.
Day 9
Early 7:30 a.m. transfer by van to the airport in Manaus. On the way we will visit the historic Manaus Opera House.
Note: Guests booking a Deluxe Room in the River Lodge will be accommodated in a Standard Room in the Jungle Lodge.
Guests booking a Honeymoon Suite in the River Lodge will be accommodated in a Deluxe Room in the Jungle Lodge.
