Day 1
Transfer by van to Amazonat River Lodge with a short stop at Amazonat Jungle Lodge and later Muirapucuzinho, a small community 55km from Amazonat Jungle Lodge. From there we will take a 20-minute ride by motorized canoe to the Sautare Mauwe Indian Reserve where our floating Amazonat River Lodge is anchored. After check-in and welcome drink, guests have the rest of the day free to enjoy the accommodations and scenic surroundings.
Day 2
We will explore the Urubu River and learn about the ecosystems surrounding a typical blackwater river. This includes a visit to an Igapo or flooded forest where we can admire the beautiful reflections and fauna. In the evening we will go alligator spotting so you can see this fascinating reptile up close.
Day 3
Morning visit to a small riverbank community with a school built on an archeological site. Later a visit to a farm that grows the famous Guarana fruit. Afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities. Swimming is safe and possible at all times.
Day 4
Day is reserved for relaxation or other independent activities. Bird watching, swimming, kayaking, fishing, having a picnic in a nearby island or observing the rainforest from our panoramic deck are just some suggestions of what can be done in this idyllic spot.
Day 5
Three hour jungle trek in the Indian Reserve where we will observe and learn about the rainforest. Afternoon free at the River Lodge to enjoy this beautiful location. In the afternoon we will visit the nearby community of Muirapucuzinho.
Day 6
Visit to one or more of the three indigenous settlements in the reserve.
Day 7
Early 6:00 am transfer back to Muirapucuzinho where the waiting van will take guests to the Manaus airport. We will make a short stop at Amazonat Jungle Lodge and later visit Meeting of the Waters, the spot where the mighty Negro and Solimoes Rivers meet to form the Amazon River (in Brazil). Before arrival to the airport, if time allows, we will stop outside the historic Manaus Opera House.
