River Lodge Stay
5 days / 4 nights

 

 

 

Day 1

Transfer by van to Amazonat River Lodge with a short rest stop at Amazonat Jungle Lodge and later Muirapucuzinho, a small community 55km from Amazonat Jungle Lodge. From there we will take a 20-minute ride by motorized canoe to the Sautare Mauwe Indian Reserve where our floating Amazonat River Lodge is anchored. After check-in and welcome drink, guest has the rest of the day free to enjoy their accommodations and beautiful scenic surroundings.

Day 2

We will explore the Urubu River and learn about the ecosystems surrounding a typical blackwater river. This includes a visit to an Igapo or flooded forest where we can admire the beautiful reflections and fauna. In the evening we will go alligator spotting so you can learn about and see this fascinating reptile up close.

Day 3

Visit to one of the three indigenous settlements nearby and then a visit to a farm that grows the popular Guarana fruit.

Day 4

Three-hour jungle trek in the Indian reserve trail system where we will observe and learn about the rainforest ecosystems. In the afternoon we will try our luck fishing.

Day 5

Early 6:00 am transfer back to Muirapucuzinho where the waiting van will take guests to the Manaus airport. We will make a short stop at Amazonat Jungle Lodge and later visit Meeting of the Waters, the spot where the mighty Negro and Solimoes Rivers meet to form the Amazon River (in Brazil). Before arrival to the airport, if time allows, we will stop outside the historic Manaus Opera House.
